FOR ESA LETTERS
All mental health professionals in our provider referral network are properly licensed, and their individual ESA treatment plans and written letters they provide are designed to meet all current ethical and legal standards, including teletherapy standards set by state licensing boards. Each provider has their own process and requirements for obtaining an ESA letter that are based on your unique circumstances. Certain providers may require multiple consultations before writing an ESA treatment letter, and a waiting period may apply in your state.
Sometimes valid ESA letters are improperly rejected. If this happens, please contact us right away – our compliance team is here to help you. If the ESA treatment letter you receive from your mental health provider is rejected by a landlord or housing administrator who is subject to the Fair Housing Act, you may be eligible for a refund of the cost of your initial consultation with your provider. To be eligible for this refund, you must do the following:

Contact our legal compliance team for assistance and work in good faith to resolve the dispute with your housing administrator before filing a housing discrimination claim or lawsuit; and

Provide evidence that you delivered to your housing administrator both a written request for a reasonable accommodation, and a copy of the ESA treatment letter that you received from the provider who was referred to you.
