Do You Need an ESA Letter for Housing?

Under the Fair Housing Act (FHA), individuals with a valid ESA letter from a licensed mental healthcare professional in their state are granted a reasonable accommodation to live with their animal and waive breed, size, and weight restrictions as well as pet fees. To get a valid ESA letter you must have a live clinical assessment from a licensed mental health provider (therapist, psychiatrist, doctor, etc.). The letter must be on the provider's letterhead and include their license type, number, jurisdiction, date and signature, but does not need to (and shouldn't) disclose your specific disability. Each state has their own specific rules, some requiring an established therapeutic relationship of at least 30 days with your provider before being eligible for an ESA letter.

Do You Need Service Dog Training?

Under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), service dogs have the legal right to accompany their handlers into all public and private areas where members of the public are allowed. To secure this public access right, your dog must be trained to perform a specific task directly related to your disability. We offer online psychiatric service dog training, that focuses on tasks such as deep pressure therapy, tactile stimulation, grounding, and interrupting dissociative episodes that can help with anxiety, depression and PTSD.
